Instagram hits Kanye with temporary ban over racial slur against Trevor Noah

On Tuesday night, comedian Trevor Noah discussed the feud between West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian on his show, citing experience from his own childhood to warn that it could turn violent.

"What [Kim's] going through is terrifying to watch," Noah said. "What we’re seeing is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her."

In response, West went after Noah on Instagram early Wednesday morning. In the caption, he quoted the chorus from gospel song "Kumbaya, My Lord," replacing the first syllable with a racial slur, reading: "K**n baya my lord."

Later that day, West was served a twenty-four hour suspension by Instagram.

According to Reuters, a Meta spokesperson said West's recent posts were in violation of its policies on "hate speech and bullying and harassment." They did not specify exactly which posts had violated its policies, but warned that future transgressions could result in further action being taken.

West has since removed the post about Noah, however he has not yet publicly commented on his suspension.

Rapper and entrepreneur West is no stranger to controversy, and his recent split from wife Kim Kardashian has fueled more than its fair share of drama.

Much of this drama has played out on social media, where West has vocally expressed his frustration over the situation with his ex-wife Kardashian and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson.

West's Instagram feed has been packed as of late with posts and stories going after Davidson and accusing Kardashian of not letting him raise their children the way he wants.

As TMZ reports, things reached a boiling point when Davidson told West he was "in bed with your wife" during a series of texts the rapper posted to Instagram.
