View on XHinckley attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, when Hinckley was 25 years old. Reagan and White House Press Secretary James S. Brady were wounded in the incident, with Brady's death in 2014 being ruled a homicide due to complications from the shot. A secret service agent and a police officer were also injured in the shooting.
Hinckley reportedly attempted the assassination to impress actress Jodie Foster. Hinckley then spent from 1982 to 2016 in psychiatric care. He was then to live with his mother, who died last year.
Hinckley is now a musician with music on streaming platforms, and a YouTube channel that has garnered tens of thousands of subscribers.
