Officers told the outlet that the two additional suspects were "migrants," like the five others who were arrested and released.
“They should be sitting in Rikers right now. They should be indicted this week and taken off our streets,” Chief of Patrol John Chell said of the others released. “You want to know why our cops are getting assaulted? There’s no consequences. We must change this, end of story.”
"(They’re) cowards. You have eight people attacking a lieutenant and a cop, running up to them to kick them in the face.”
One of the first five arrested, as he was walking by reporters, flipped off the cameras.

View on XDuring their time in the United States, Brito and Barros have already committed previous crimes. Brito has two priors for petty larceny and Barros was accused of stealing merchandise at a Burlington Coat Factory during December in Queens. Barros resisted arrest during the process.
The attack on the officers happened on Saturday and the incident has sparked outrage online over the border crisis. New York's handling of the influx of illegal immigrants and how criminality is handled is by law enforcement has also come into question.
