New York female teacher accused of rape of 16-year-old mentally ill student

“It’s the rape of a child with a mental illness,” the mom said.

33-year-old Sandy Carazas-Pinez, a biology teacher based out of New York City, is under investigation by the special victims unit of the NYPD for her alleged ongoing sexual assault of a 16-year-old male special needs student, with allegations that include the married mom of three abused the student in her car on multiple occasions.
According to the New York Post, Casarez-Pinez was on vacation in January when she allegedly sent the teen a message that read, "Throughout the whole vacation you have shut me out and the only time you would hit me up was when you wanted to… tell me that you are crushing on other teachers… I am not a piece of a** with no feelings."

View on RumbleIn another discussion the teacher and teenager were allegedly discussing if they should "end it" and she wrote, "I know for me it isn't going to be easy, I will miss your kisses, hugs and everything."
She allegedly said something similar in a separate text with "I do miss your touch and kisses not going to lie…I sound like a pervert."
Investigators with the police and the district attorney's office are looking into Carazas-Pinez's actions as the teen boy's mother alleged the former teacher sent her son numerous inappropriate texts, including some with nude pictures.
The boy attended the Biondi School in Yonkers, operated by the nonprofit education group Rising Ground who terminated Carazas-Pinez this month in light of the allegations. The group said in a statement, "We are upset, shocked, and appalled by the behavior of a former teacher who betrayed the values of the school by engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student."
On Friday, Casarez-Pinez said to the Post, "I didn't even know there were these allegations."
She claimed authorities have not reached out to her over the matter and said that, concerning the teen, "He would tell me he loved me and I would just reciprocate" and that he only was in her automobile once as "he asked me for a ride and it was snowing that day."
She said the boy "had the passcode" to her phone and that was the explanation for his receiving nude images from her.
In a separate phone call, her husband could be heard confronting her over the allegations and said to her, "You told me you quit, Sandy" and "You're done, Sandy, if this is true." He later told the Post that he kicked her out of the house and she was now staying with her parents in Staten Island.
The New York Post obtained a recorded conversation between Casarez-Pinez and the boy where she said "They're saying we were too close … that it was pretty much like us being in a relationship. And that's, like, against everything. One, because you're underage, and two, because I'm your teacher."
The boy's mother, whose name was withheld, said the boy suffers from a mood disorder and schizophrenia, and spoke to a special victims detective on March 7.
"It's the rape of a child with a mental illness," the mom said. "As a society, we have to prioritize the safety of children who are mentally ill and boys who are sexually assaulted."
