The National Football League has a more optimistic view of the future than other sports leagues, as the Goliath organization is aiming to have packed stadiums come fall 2020.
NFL Vice President Troy Vincent said on Friday that the league is planning on having "full stadiums until the medical community tells us otherwise."
"Now remember when we're talking — we're talking about August, September. So there's a lot that can happen here. So we're planning for full stadiums," said Vincent, according to CBS Sports.
Vincent said that they also had plans for a half-packed stadium, saying: "We also know that we have to plan for half stadiums, three-quarters. So we're planning for all of these different scenarios. But first and foremost, we're making every effort, working with the medical community, if we can have those stadiums with all people until they tell us otherwise when that time comes, that's our plan. That's our plan of action."
Luckily for the NFL, they were able to go through with the Super Bowl and finish the season on a high note at the start of February, nearly a full month before coronavirus shut down the entire continent.
While other sports leagues have had entire seasons cancelled so far, the NFL has been able to conduct themselves normally, besides a few virtual events that would normally have taken place in person.
