Howard Zlotkin, a teacher in a NJ high school, went on a rant in front of students in which he called George Floyd a "f**king criminal." He has now been suspended and is facing dismissal.
The incident occurred during an official class which was taking place over the Zoom platform on part of Dickinson High School.
According to the Daily Wire, the class was initially talking about climate change, but something possessed Zlotkin to go off on a tangent and engage in an extended verbal argument with students:
"If you think I’m privileged then f**k you, because my daughter thinks I’m privileged and I don’t speak to her," Zlotkin said as concerned students and parents started recording the conference call.
"I hear people whining and crying about Black Lives Matter, but George Floyd was a f**king criminal and he got arrested and he got killed because he wouldn’t comply and the bottom line is we make him a f**king hero,"
"The school was in the process of taking statements from students today before proceeding with disciplinary actions, and then the second video surfaced. The teacher will not have access to students or the school as we proceed. We are appalled by the statements, profanity, disrespect and treatment of students," said a spokesperson from the school board.
George Floyd died in police custody on May 25, 2020, and former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of multiple counts of murder and manslaughter in connection with his death.
