NYT falsely claims Dave Rubin ‘regularly hosts white supremacists’

In an interview with Democratic candidate for New York City mayor Andrew Yang, the New York Times claimed that political pundit and host Dave Rubin "regularly hosts white supremacists."
Speaking to Andrew Yang, a member of The New York Times editorial board, Mara Gay, asked, "Over the years, you’ve built your brand by frequently doing radio and other appearances with right-wing media personalities. At times you said that the Democratic Party should gravitate away from identity politics. You’ve supported automating fast-food workers at times. Why appear on shows like “The Dave Rubin Show,” who regularly hosts white supremacists?"
Andrew Yang made headlines in the presidential race for openly supporting Universal Basic Income (UBI) for all American regardless of income or willingness to work. Yang announced he was running for mayor of New York City in January and since has ran a gaffe-filled campaign.
While questioning Yang about his brand, Mara Gay accused Dave Rubin, former employee at The Young Turks, of being complicit in white supremacy and to belong in an untouchable class that is inappropriate to interact with.
Rubin is a self described "classical liberal" who belongs to a loose collective known as the "intellectual dark web." Alongside the likes of Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Bari Weiss and others, Rubin seeks to foster discussion and a "marketplace of ideas" as a political philosophy.
Rubin has interviewed controversial right-wing figures like Milo Yiannopoulos, Paul Joseph Watson, and Stefan Molyneux, but has never courted any self-identifying "white supremacist" figures. Rubin has had a wide collective of people on his show and has made a stated commitment to attempt to be fair to all sides. Rubin tweeted demanding an apology from The New York Times following the release of the interview.
In addition to accusing Rubin of "regularly hosting white supremacists," Rubin took issue with Gay for getting the name of his show wrong, referring to it as "The Dave Rubin Show" and not "The Rubin Report." The New York Times has not issued a correction or released any response to Rubin as of this time.
