Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have released a sketch of the man suspected of impersonating a police officer, who was also stopping citizens on the street.
Police say the man has been pulling people over and stopping people from riding bikes, asking them to provide proof that they are essential workers, before eventually letting them continue on with their day.
OPP say complaints have come in in Wellington County of a man wearing a police vest. The man was seen driving a four-door black sedan, with a blue strobe light on the dashboard.
The OPP have given some tips to the public to help those in the public who may encounter an impersonator.
"Those stopped or approached by an officer in plain clothes driving an unmarked vehicle are within their rights to ask for the officer’s identification or request a uniformed officer be present," OPP said in a news release.
Citizens were also told to call 911 if they have an interaction with a person who is not a real police officer.
