Pepé le Pew left out of ‘Space Jam’ remake while ‘A Clockwork Orange’ Droogs remain in the stands
While Pepé le Pew was deemed to have crossed the line, the makers of Space Jam: A New Legacy seem to have no problem including characters who actually committed rape on screen.
While Pepé le Pew was deemed to have crossed the line, the makers of Space Jam: A New Legacy seem to have no problem including characters who actually committed rape on screen.
The Space Jam remake, whose trailer was released this weekend, features a myriad of characters from the past, from Scooby-Doo, to Mad Max, and everything in between. The question is, in today's day and age, why include the Droogs at all?
The Droogs featured in the now infamous scene from A Clockwork Orange depicts in graphic detail the group of men abusing a woman. This seems far worse than anything Pepé le Pew ever did to Penelope Pussycat, no?
These days outrage is selective, and while the Droogs have somehow been given the go-ahead, the cartoon skunk has been left on the sidelines.
