President Trump says Ramaswamy, Scott, Noem, Donalds, Gabbard and even DeSantis on potential VP shortlist

Among the individuals on Trump's list are Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, all of whom were former rivals. Additionally, Trump included South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Florida Republican Byron Donalds, and former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard on his roster.

During the Fox News town hall with Laura Ingraham on Monday night, Trump expressed confidence in all the candidates, describing them as "good" and "solid." Despite the significance of the Vice Presidential selection, Trump downplayed its impact, citing historical examples and mentioning the challenges faced by 2008 Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin.

Emphasizing the importance of the position, Trump articulated the qualities he seeks in a running mate, highlighting the need for someone who can connect with voters and possesses "common sense." Trump disposed of DeSantis easily during the primary, then the Florida governor ended up endorsing him.

Notably, Gabbard, who previously served in the House of Representatives and ran as a Democrat in the 2020 presidential race, has since distanced herself from the party and gained visibility in conservative media. Both Scott and Ramaswamy withdrew from the race early on and endorsed Trump.
