A GoFundMe page that was set up to raise money for the families of victims killed in the Nova Scotia mass shooting received a generous donation from Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, according to CTV News.
The star of Van Wilder and Deadpool gave a donation of $5,000 to the page to help support 33-year-old Nick Beaton, husband of Kristen Beaton who was killed in the massacre. The money will also help support their son, Daxton, who is almost two-years-old.
So far, the crowdfunding page created to help the family of Kristen Beaton, one of the 22 people who were murdered, has already raised over $100,000.
Nick Beaton is hoping to raise enough money to keep his wife's wish to ensure that her healthcare colleagues get enough proper protective equipment to keep them save during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beaton said he received phone calls from Reynolds and hockey player Hayley Wickenheiser. After seeing his plea, both were moved by his story and decided to donate.
Earlier this week the two stars worked with grassroots organization Conquer COVID-19 and sent 10,000 masks, 200 face shields and 20 tablets to Nova Scotia.
