Seattle pizza shop tells unvaccinated people to ‘please eat nowhere’

Windy City Pie, like most restaurants in King County, are required to have indoor diners provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours. Another restaurant in Seattle operated by the same owners called Breezy Town Pizza, requires not just for diners to provide proof of vaccination, but those picking up takeout as well. This is a more stringent requirement than the county imposed.

Following the predictable backlash to the discrimination, the founder of the establishment, Dave Lichterman, limited who can view his extremely partisan social media profiles.

Rather than ignore the backlash or revise their policy, Windy City doubled down on their previous statement and ire of the unvaccinated in a lengthy Facebook post.

"It looks like we've caught the ire of anti-vaxx extremists. While we're grateful for ensuring their followers never visit us, we’re less enthused that they’ve called for the harassment of our employees."

The statement continued, "If you are eligible and medically able to receive vaccination yet don't feel it’s necessary to do that small act to protect your community from a deadly virus, we don't feel it's necessary to serve you pizza."

The restaurateurs added, "COVID-19 is real. Vaccines work and save lives. Kindly go and shill your disinformation elsewhere. And if you're going to threaten to not do business with us, to you we say: Thank you. We don’t want to do business with you, either."

The business then specifically called out people who "…yelled at us for nearly two years about the 'plandemic,'" and claimed that their COVID policies were "…wildly effective over the course of the pandemic -allowed us to make our already difficult jobs simpler, protected the safety of our guests, and prevented entry to individuals who forgot that with freedom comes responsibility, persons who would selfishly endanger the mental AND physical safety of our employees."

The company signed off by stating, "That these policies limited our business with some of our least empathetic customers is just a happy coincidence that we've chosen to embrace. Bye, Felicia."

The restaurant’s Facebook page was inundated with negative reviews in response to the policy before becoming a back and forth between supporters and detractors. Reviews of the food at Windy City Pie before controversy over the policy were overwhelmingly negative.
