Seven people from Canada tried to enter US illegally by driving across lawn, got caught and turned back

The video below comes from footage from a pair of cameras mounted in public on utility poles in Derby Line, Vermont. These cameras have proven useful in this case to monitor the border crossing:

As the caption to the video states, the seven occupants of the vehicle were from Canada as well as France and Romania. All seven were returned to Canada as per current regulations due to the pandemic.

The Haskell Free Library was built over a century ago on a lot that straddles both sides of the US/Canadian border; this was done on purpose. The library has perennially allowed access to people from both countries to visit the library without having to clear the border, although the entrance is located in US territory.

However, the library is currently closed due to the pandemic, and the US/Canada land border also remains largely closed to all non-essential traffic for the same reason.
