Texas election fraudster busted for ballot harvesting scheme after being outed by Project Veritas

Project Veritas exposed Rodriguez's ballot harvesting scheme last fall in the lead up to the 2020 election.

The Election Fraud Division of the Office of the Attorney General reviewed dozens of hours of unedited, raw footage, from Project Veritas which led to the arrest.

Each charge constitutes a felony under the Texas Election Code and if convicted, Rodriguez could face up to 20 years in prison.

On the Project Veritas video, Rodriguez acknowledged what she was doing was illegal and that she was risking jail for it. Rodriguez said on the Project Veritas video "I could go to jail. I’m a little apprehensive to tell anybody what I’m f*cking doing, you know what I’m saying?"

According to James O'Keefe, founder of Project Veritas "These so-called 'ballot chasers' use a mix of gifts and coercion to work down their list of targeted voters and make sure they vote for their paymasters. The actions violate both federal and state law and constitute a direct threat to the integrity of our election-based republic."

Paxton said, "Many continue to claim that there’s no such thing as election fraud. We’ve always known that such a claim is false and misleading, and today we have additional hard evidence. This is a victory for election integrity and a strong signal that anyone who attempts to defraud the people of Texas, deprive them of their vote, or undermine the integrity of elections will be brought to justice."

"The shocking and blatantly illegal action documented by Project Veritas demonstrates a form of election fraud my office continually investigates and prosecutes. I am fiercely committed to ensuring the voting process is secure and fair throughout the state, and my office is prepared to assist any Texas county in combating this insidious, un-American form of fraud," Paxton continued.

The investigation is ongoing. Individuals involved in or with knowledge of this and other organized vote harvesting schemes are asked to contact the Office of the Attorney General.
