A Toronto man has been charged for a September 2018 murder, after having already been charged three other times in connection to shootings in 2018 and 2019.
According to CP24, on Friday September 14, 2018, 16-year-old Elijah Aziavor was shot when he went outside his home in the Bellamy Road North and Cedar Brae Boulevard area at around 7 pm in the evening.
A neighbour told media that Aziavor was over at her home to charge his phone, and she had overheard him arranging plans to meet someone.
He was rushed to hospital after police attempted to revive him. However, he died in the hospital’s trauma centre, making him Toronto’s 78th homicide victim of 2018.
Thursday, police arrested and charged Jatorri Williams—a man already facing other charges—with first degree murder for connections to the killing of Aziavor. Williams is also facing second degree murder charges for killing 19-year-old Jago Anderson on Sept. 18, 2018, and additional first degree murder changes in connection to the October 1, 2019 killings of Delauntae Bryant and Eric Rowe.
Police have said that Williams’s new first degree charge will be prosecuted along side his existing second degree murder charges, as agreed upon the Crown Attorney's office.
Williams is set to virtually appear at Toronto East Courts on October 21.
Police are asking anyone with further information about these incidents to contact the homicide squad at 416-808-7400.
