Toronto police issue robbery, imitation firearm charges against man who used fake gun to break into woman’s bedroom
32-year-old Justin Pilgrim was apprehended by the police after reportedly climbing up the fire escape of a Church and Wellesley neighbourhood house, forcing open the rear door into a 57-year-old woman’s bedroom.
Toronto police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted home invasion robbery that took place Thursday morning, CP24 reports.
The man, 32-year-old Justin Pilgrim, was apprehended by the police after reportedly climbing up the fire escape of a Church and Wellesley neighbourhood house, forcing open the rear door into a 57-year-old woman's bedroom.
According to police, Pilgrim approached and pointed a firearm at the woman, which turned out to not be a real firearm. The woman then fought the man, trying to push him out to lock the door.
Pilgrim fled when another resident of the house came home. Police located the suspect quickly and apprehended him. He was reportedly carrying an air-soft firearm and methamphetamine.
Luckily, no serious injuries were reported.
Pilgrim is now facing robbery, breaking and entering, using an imitation firearm during commission of an indictable offence, weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with probation charges.
