Police are investigating a possible connection between two separate shootings where tow truck drivers were shot at on Highway 401.
CP24 reports that the first shooting took place around midnight in the Highway 401 and Avenue Road area. A passing car had shot at a tow truck parked on the shoulder of the road. The driver was not injured.
Police say the suspect vehicle is a dark blue Mercedes with a missing rear licence plate. The car was last seen going westbound on the 401.
A few moments later, police heard of another shooting involving a tow truck on Highway 401, this time near Leslie Street.
According to police, the suspect vehicle is another dark sedan, which fired shots at a tow truck parked on the shoulder of the road.
Once again, no one was injured. Police, however, did find multiple shell cases.
At this time, police are not able to confirm if the same suspect is behind the two shootings. The Toronto Police is working with the OPP on an investigation.
