TPUSA student leader attacked near UC Boulder campus after Antifa puts out hit list flyer
The Colorado Antifa groups put out a hit list flyer on the college student, which accused the sophomore of being “an active member” of “neo-Nazi organizations.”
Police in Boulder, Colorado are searching for a suspect accused of attacking a 19-year-old Turning Point USA student leader near the University of Colorado, Boulder on Thursday evening. The attacker is suspected to be an Antifa member.
The incident occurred at around 7 pm on Thursday evening in the 2700 block of Baseline Road. Officers arrived at the scene after the male victim who was out on his bicycle called 911 to report that he was assaulted by a man on roller blades. The suspect came up to the victim from behind and assaulted him both verbally and with a hockey stick. "The victim was not seriously injured and declined medical treatment," Boulder Police said in a press release.
Police said that it appears, based on preliminary information, that the suspect may have followed the victim from the university’s campus onto Baseline Road before the attack.
"In the interest of transparency, detectives are also confirming that they are aware that the victim was the subject of some social media posts and a digital flyer circulated by others prior to last night’s incident. Whether these played a role in the reported assault is part of the investigation, and police are not commenting further on this finding," the press release stated.
The Colorado Antifa groups Front Range Antifa and Colorado Springs Antifa put out a hit list flyer on the college student, which accused the sophomore of being "an active member" of "neo-Nazi organizations" and is "responsible for white supremacist, antisemitic, and anti-LGBTQ vandalism on campus and across Boulder," and also "participated in a white supremacist boxing tournament."
The Boulder Students for a Democratic Society shared the flyer to their social media, urging followers to "share widely" and tag the school to notify them of a "Nazi activist on CU Boulder campus."
The suspect in the attack is said to be a white male of medium-tall height and a slender build, and was wearing " all black clothing, a black ski mask, and had a green Gatorade bottle with an orange top in his back right pants pocket."
"He was skating with a hockey stick. The suspect fled the scene after the victim called 911, and Boulder Police and CU Police officers searched the area but did not locate him."
