Twitter mocks CNN’s Jim Acosta for wearing custom-made shirt about his journalistic ‘accomplishments’

"In 2020, I covered the impeachment trial & a caucus night (that lasted a week) & the primaries & the covid pandemic & the economic crash & the racial justice protests & Lafayette Square & so many rallies & the death of RBG (Justice Rush Bader Ginsburg) & the president’s 1AM coronavirus diagnosis & a Supreme Court confirmation & an election night (that lasted a week) & things by tweet & the recounts & the presidential transition & I have a commemorative shirt to prove it," the shirt in question reads.

Acosta, in the accompanying tweet text, pushed for others to get vaccinated as well.

"Just the shot in the arm I needed. The latest studies show the Covid-19 vaccines are highly effective. Please do your part to end this pandemic. Get your shot!" the post reads.

Many Twitter users mocked Acosta's choice in shirt, calling out what they suggested were tendencies towards narcissism.

"Ladies, find you a man who loves you like Jim Acosta loves Jim Acosta," said Ben Shapiro.

"If you ever wondered what ego incarnate would look like, here you go," added journalist Tim Pool.

"I have a friend who did much more than you by forming a dewing group that made thoughsands of masks for health care workers. And she didn’t even make a t-shirt about her 2020 accomplishments," replied writer Kimberly Ross.

Beth Baumann, Associate Editor at Town Hall added that the "Next shirt should say "I'm the jackass who pushed a White House intern because press briefings need to be all about me & then I can write 'dear diary' posts about my experiences & get made fun of on Twitter & think I'm the shit," in reference to when Acosta was suspended from the White House for refusing to hand his microphone back to a young female staffer after being told he was done.

"My goodness this t-shirt is quite the way of screaming that you're a certifiable narcissist. Jim Acosta has to be in the top ten of the most self-centered journalists and Americans period," said Managing Editor for News Busters Curtis Houck.

Podcaster Stephen L. Miller wrote that "This is the most Jim Acosta thing Jim Acosta has ever done, even more Jim Acosta than Jim Acosta making his Twitter header a picture of Jim Acosta pointing at Jim Acosta's Twitter avatar of Jim Acosta."

"Jim Acosta actually wore this shirt to get vaccinated. I’m serious. This is real," said Caleb Hull.
