Justin Trudeau has proven to us time and time again that he is the “do as I say, not as I do” prime minister. It doesn’t matter if it’s his high-flying, fuel-burning jet-setting vacations, or his frivolous budget reserved for water bottles, Trudeau has proven to Canadians that his promises are empty and his willingness to virtue-signal is high.
Two weeks ago, the Honorable Prime Minister officially announced that single-use plastics were on their way out. Plastic bags, straws, and cutlery were all proposed as items to be given the proverbial axe, as Trudeau proclaimed that Canada was starting its “science-based approach to establishing which harmful single-use plastics we will be eliminated” as of 2021.
Lo and behold, just a fortnight later, Team Trudeau's social media team tweeted a damning photo of the PM at a lunch with plastic utensils. Despite his clear message that Canadians needed to do better and take action, Prime Minister Trudeau decided to have a bite with the Papineau Youth Council yesterday, in which they discussed “climate change, advance gender equality,” and ways they can make Canada “better for everyone.”
The photo received plenty of instant feedback from upset Canadians who feel as though Trudeau consistently applies one standard for the population, and a different standard for himself.

View on XIt’s unclear as to whether Justin Trudeau used the plastic forks and knives to eat the pizza, but this doesn’t absolve him from plastic-use hypocrisy. Unless that is, you believe that the Prime Minister actually uses drink box water battle sort-of-things.
Though the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is now saying they'll be reusing their plastic cutlery, some food scientists are saying that the seemingly harmless act of rewashing plastic utensils can leach chemicals into your food, since they're not designed for such re-use.

View on XIt's unknown who actually set up the lunch meeting, and it's still not publicly known who purchased the forks and knives. But hopefully, our valiant prime minister scolded him or her for purchasing tools that put all of peoplekind in danger.
