University of Washington pro-Hamas activists declare they ‘don’t want Israel’ or ‘Zionists’ ‘to exist’
“Last protest on this campus, we saw the chief of UW police shaking hands, making jokes, with known Zionist aggressors, like Ari Hoffman,” which triggered a round of boos from the crowd.
On Wednesday, pro-Hamas supporters rallied again at the University of Washington and the genocidal leader of the group proudly proclaimed, “We don’t want Israel to exist. We don’t want these Zionist counter-protesters to exist.”
The unidentified organizer also targeted The Post Millennial’s West Coast editor Ari Hoffman, saying, "Last protest on this campus, we saw the chief of UW police shaking hands, making jokes, with known Zionist aggressors, like Ari Hoffman," which triggered a round of boos from the crowd.
Last week, the group held a vigil on campus for terminated Hamas terrorists.
Since Hamas terrorists massacred, raped, and tortured over 1,400 Israeli civilians on October 7, pro-Hamas rallies have spread across US college campuses.
Before the total body count was even known, radicals at UW organized a Hamas rally during which participants called for the genocide of Jews and supported the barbaric actions of terrorists. UW students, faculty and staff continue to participate in the rallies.
Protests have also been held weekly in downtown Seattle, where participants continue to call for a genocide against the Jewish and an ethnic cleansing of Israel. Yet, local media has continued to downplay and mischaracterize the rallies as advocating for the return of the over 200 hostages which include US citizens.
Recent rallies, including the one Wednesday at UW, have featured signs proudly displaying the logo of self-identifying Marxist Seattle council member Kshama Sawant, which are printed in a style typical for her radical causes.
Sawant has previously held other antisemitic events using city resources and most recently wore a Hamas keffiyeh during a press conference demonizing the Jewish state and the US.
Participants at the recent rallies have included many Antifa, defund the police and other activists seen at various other protests throughout the city.
The university continues to fail to address the pro-terrorist events on campus. In a statement, a spokesperson for UW president Ana Mari Cauce said, “We understand the fear the Jewish community is feeling during this very difficult time. We are aware of events such as Wednesday’s walk-out, which are not condoned or otherwise supported by the University. The UW's Division of Campus Community Safety staff are working to ensure safety for the campus community. This has been and will likely continue to be a difficult academic year in ways none of us could have foreseen before October 7. We are dedicated to the safety of our Jewish community members and to maintaining UW as a place where every student knows that they are welcome and supported.”
In previous statements, the spokesperson has said that the pro-Hamas events “falls under the definition of protected speech, as would any individual’s participation in it.”
