WATCH: Chris Cuomo describes outlets that reported his brother’s COVID scandal as ‘tabloids’

"The CDC confirmed that COVID-19 was the third leading cause of death last year. Heart disease, cancer, COVID," said Chris Cuomo. "The news comes as cases continue to spike across the United States thanks to tougher variants. And mask mandates are being struck down in places like Wisconsin thanks to reduced collective resolve to fight."

Dr. Fauci joined the segment and Cuomo made a sly remark that Dr. Fauci may have already known he received the vaccine because he was in the "tabloids."

Although Chris is used to the Cuomo name frequenting headlines due to the multiple scandals his brother, New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo is currently involved in, the "tabloids" he is referring to are mainstream news networks.

"I got the Pfizer vaccine yesterday. Uh, Christina and I went, you [Dr. Fauci] may have seen me in the tabloids," said Cuomo.

Dr. Fauci went on to answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine including the side effects that individuals may experience after receiving the shot.

"So I felt fine yesterday. Just a little soreness at the spot. Today I had a little bit of a fever and felt almost a little flu-ish, uh, Christina, same kind of stuff," said Cuomo. "Malaise. Normal?"

"Yes, absolutely." Fauci answered. "What you're feeling is your body's reaction. The immune response you're getting. But particularly for you, uh, Chris, cause you've been infected and you've had COVID-19, which means you probably have a lot of immune memory in your system. And when you get a vaccine, you're really going to rev it up. I’ll bet if we measure your antibody levels a couple of weeks from now, you're going to be sky high. Which is really good!"

"I got nervous today when I started to get, um, those fever symptoms again, because it reminded me of being sick, but it's a very different deal this time," said Cuomo. "I just want people to know that what I'm feeling. I'll be honest about it and honest from you that this is not that abnormal, but it's better than being sick."
