View on RumbleIn a recent episode, Dinesh D'Souza suggested that the United States is slowly becoming a 3rd world country. He began by laying out certain characteristics of such countries, namely poor civic manners, lack of infrastructure, and corruption.
"When I walked to school," D'Souza said of his childhood, "I would go past the slums and you'd see people urinating, defecating on the street, and they were doing it really, without shame. Now, I see this in America. You go to San Francisco and you see this going on; it's a little shocking to me."
D'Souza said that another element of 3rd world countries is "the blurring of a political party and the state." He suggested that the Biden administration is exhibiting many of the same characteristics of such regimes, highlighting reports that they have "invited the United Nations to come to America and investigate systematic racism."
The decision by the Biden administration comes after the UN Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet released a report detailing inequalities faced by black people around the world, mentioning the United States more than any other nation. The report begins, in fact, by mentioning the killing of George Floyd. The report is part of a larger UN resolution to address systemic racism around the world.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken released a statement soon after the resolution was passed, in which he conveyed that the Biden administration is "deeply dedicated to addressing racial injustice and inequities at home and abroad." Blinken goes on to say that he wants the United States to lead by example on the world stage.
"It is in this context," he continues, "that the United States intends to issue a formal, standing invitation to all UN experts who report and advise on thematic human rights issues," including "the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism," and "the UN Special Rapporteur on minority issues."
D'Souza sees the move differently, claiming that the Biden administration wants to "indict" America, or as Jeane Kirkpatrick said, "blame America first." He suggests that the Biden administration is essentially using the UN to "ratify what the Democrats are already saying."
D'Souza continues by lambasting the UN and its nonsensical decisions, namely that which saw Venezuela get a spot on the Human Rights Council. "We're calling these clowns in to sit in judgement of the United States?"
Highlighting the fact that the UN typically visits 3rd world nations in need of desperate assistance, D'Souza suggests that the Biden administration is telling the world that "the United States basically is now itself a country that is in need of this kind of international supervision and oversight." He laments the fact that the Obama era principle of American un-exceptionalism is "embedded in the Biden administration."
D'Souza further calls out the administration's current UN ambassador for her suggestion that "white supremacy is weaved into [America's] founding documents."
