View on XThe video begins with a concerned citizen's 911 call in which they describe seeing a vehicle driving erratically down the road and "almost cause two accidents." The caller then goes on to state that when they pulled up to the vehicle, they saw a child in the drivers' seat.
The concerned citizen says that he asked the child how old he was, to which the child replied "12." He then goes on to explain that the dad was "obviously visibly what I think is drunk in the passenger seat", adding that "this was crazy; I've never seen this in my life."
"Two cars honked," he says, "and finally the dad took over and he is swerving and braking. I wonder if he is intoxicated and let his 12-year-old son drive?"
Upon receiving the 911 call, police soon caught up with the vehicle and pulled them over. Officers administered a field sobriety test to the father, and then arrested him for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and child endangerment.
One officer can be heard asking the child if he wants a slushy from a gas station nearby.
The York Regional Police said in their tweet that the 911 caller "may have saved lives."
