WATCH: Teens charged with killing girl’s father laugh about ‘murdering somebody’ in chilling video

Aaron Guerrero, 18, and girlfriend Sierra Halseth, 16, can be seen on the video, which is being presented in evidence by prosecutors in the case, talking about killing Daniel Halseth, 45. Sierra Halseth's mother was a former Nevada state senator, according to the New York Post. The video shown by prosecutors was accompanied by photographs of the bloody crime scene and the implements of the murder.

The video shows Guerrero, smiling into the camera, saying "Welcome back to our YouTube channel... Day 3 after murdering somebody..."

Halseth laughs and says "Whoa! Don't put that on camera."

He kissed her on the forehead, saying "It was worth it."

Halseth tells the camera that they "had sex a lot today," and Guerrero says that was "payment for doing it." He then wraps his hand around her throat and slaps her face.

"So, yeah," Halseth says.

The video was filmed in April, less than a week after Daniel Halseth was murdered. The couple allegedly tried to dismember the body and set fire to his house. The murder was precipitated by the teens' parents telling them they had to break up, according to local police.

Guerrero and Halspeth stabbed her father with equipment they bought using bank cards they stole from him. After the murder, the two stole the father's car and were then found in Salt Lake City while endeavoring to escape to California. Those items included bleach, a saw, lighter fluid, and gloves. Inside the car, a blood-soaked rug was found.

The murder was revealed after Daniel Halseth's mother, Christine Halseth, was unable to reach him, and was unable to stomach her granddaughter's excuses as to his absence. Sierra Halseth had texted her grandmother, saying that her father's "phone has been acting up, but he’s okie." She also texted "It should be all fixed by tomorrow night, no worries :)"

"Why are you doing this? … Now the police are involved," Christine Halseth messaged back to her granddaughter.

Halseth is being charged as an adult, but will not face the death penalty. Additional to the murder charges are conspiracy, arson, robbery, and credit card fraud. Guerrero, at 18, can face capital punishment.
