WATCH: Two vehicles of pro-Palestinian activists chase down Jewish man in LA

The man, who spoke to Fox News and requested to remain anonymous, said that he was walking back from the synagogue Monday night during the Jewish holiday of Shavuot when he said he noticed a car racing towards him.

"I've taken this route a million times and I've never been afraid," he said. "I was waiting by the light for it to change and suddenly I saw a bunch of cars coming and I see out of the corner of my eye they were waving the Palestinian flag. They started speeding up and I heard them chanting 'Allahu akbar.' That's when I started running for my life."

Surveillance footage from a nearby synagogue captures the incident, displaying the man running into a Bank of America parking lot being chased by two cars whose occupants were waving Palestinian flags while shouting, "Allahu akbar."

"I ran as fast as I could," said the man. "They were picking up speed and I really thought they were going to run me over, that it would all be over."

He revealed that he even said the "Shemah" prayer commonly recited when one finds themselves on the brink of death. "I was petrified," he said. "I just kept thinking, 'I’m a father of six and I want to come home to them tonight.' I thought they were going to kill me. My mind was racing."

The man was able to get to safety inside the nearby synagogue, where he asked those inside to help him secure the entrances.

The incident has left the man shaken, and although he has since returned to the synagogue, he finds himself "looking in every direction" and often "hides behind trees" when vehicles approach, he said.

"I thought to myself, America has always been about freedom of religion," he commented. "You'll never see any Jews in my community attacking pro-Palestinians in a residential neighborhood like you saw here. And yet, I don't feel safe walking around."

The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation into the incident. Police officials are saying that they're being very aggressive in finding the culprits.

This is just one of a number of anti-Semitic attacks reported in the Los Angeles area and across the country over the last few weeks as tensions rise over skyrocketing Israeli-Palestinian violence.

The Beverly Grove sushi restaurant was attacked last week by a caravan of Palestinian flag waving cars. The occupants threw bottles at diners and chanted "Death to Jews" and "Free Palestine." Some vehicles stopped at the restaurant, with its occupants getting out and asking, "Who's Jewish." One man, identified only as M, was followed to his car, punched, and pepper sprayed.
