WATCH: White House press sec doubles down on using executive actions to enact ‘common sense’ gun control

When asked about that potentiality on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed that yes, Biden is perfectly willing to impose his will on the American people.

A reporter asked about Biden's plans to impose gun control legislation, and the intentions of other Democrat lawmakers, and Psaki said that "Well first the president shares that sentiment, as I think many Americans do.

"That when we saw 20 children murdered, when we saw six adults murdered, that that would turn the tide of Congress." She said said "data and statistics" from across the country support the implementation of background checks before a person is allowed to purchase a fire arm.

There are a substantial number of states that have background check laws in place, she noted. "Sometimes states are the leaders, as we know," she said.

Psaki noted that Biden has been in public, political life for over 50 years, and that he's been interested in "common sense" gun reforms for most of that time. He has not been deterred, Psaki said, from continuing to try to push this through despite past failures.

As to the question of whether the administration is using these two, recent, public mass shootings to enact their agenda, she said that they serve as a "reminder," but are not the impetus for the action.

For these efforts to be permanent, Psaki echoed Vice President Harris' notion that the reforms need to be legislative. However, that does not mean that the president has ruled out executive actions.

"There are also executive actions under consideration that we will continue working through internally," Psaki said, "and there's lots of leverage you can take as president and vice president."

It is unclear as to what executive action Psaki thinks the vice president, who Biden has referred to a number of times as President Harris, should be taking with regard to limiting the freedoms that have been protected by the second amendment of the US Constitution.
