“When the cops came, the cop said: ‘Yell if you need help!’ And one of the persons in my class said ‘help.’ The guy overheard and he came in and shot her,” one of the surviving students said.
A fourth grade boy who was in the classroom of carnage in Uvalde, Tex. on Tuesday when 19 of his classmates and two teachers were murdered by a local teen recounted what he saw in that room. He heard the shooter say "it's time to die" before opening fire on the children.
He and four others hid under a cloth covered table while the shooter, Salvador Ramos, 18, opened fire. He said that he saw his teachers go "in front of my classmates to help," according to The Daily Mail.

It was at that point that the gunman went to find an open door, and did so. The granddaughter said that when the gunman opened the door of the other classroom, he said "What do I have here?" And began firing.
"When I heard the shooting through the door," the boy told local news, "I told my friend to hide under something so he won't find us. I was hiding hard and I was telling my friend not to talk because he is going to hear us."
"When the cops came, the cop said: 'Yell if you need help!' And one of the persons in my class said 'help.' The guy overheard and he came in and shot her," the boy said.
"The cop barged into that classroom. The guy shot at the cop. And the cops started shooting," he said. The boy and his friends stayed hidden until the shooting was over.
"I just opened the curtain. And I just put my hand out. I got out with my friend. I knew it was police. I saw the armor and the shield," he said.
