Children ages 5 to 11 will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting on Tuesday, health officials confirmed on Monday.
"We’re receiving two shipments, one today, another tomorrow," Health Minister Christine Elliott said. "We’ll able to start getting shots into little arms as soon as this Thursday."
The pediatric COVID vaccine, which is a smaller dose of the regular COVID shot, will arrive in Ontario some time on Monday, with a total of one million doses arriving by Tuesday.
The shots are expected to be delivered three weeks apart. NACI still recommends eight weeks between doses.
"A lot of parents still have concerns and still want more information about vaccines and their children," Elliott said, reports CP24. Polls show that this statement is true, as roughly 30 percent of Ontario parents say they are hesitant to give their kids COVID vaccines.
