Ontario Finance Minister Rod Phillips has been entangled in controversy this week. While the Ontario provincial government issued a major December lockdown order, Phillips was seen flying away for a Caribbean vacation.

To make matters worse, many are now pointing to the fact that Phillips flew to Switzerland during the fist COVID-19 wave. According to various sources, Phillips stated that he took a "personal trip" to Switzerland in August.

The nature of this visit is unknown, but criticism continues to surround the Finance Minister. Phillips also posted pre-filmed videos on his social media, giving off the impression that he was home for the holidays. One of the videos is a fireside Phillips, imploring the public to stay home and do Christmas virtually.
