An Ontario public school has apparently warned parents that their children will be learning about the Canadian flag, and the reasons that Canada celebrates its independence day.

The form, which omits the name of the school, says that parents have the choice to opt their children out from receiving a flag.

The letter reads: "On Tuesday June 28, 2022, our Grade One students will have the opportunity to meet with a member of the [omitted] Lion's Club to learn a little about the history of Canada and why we celebrate Canada Day. Students will also have the opportunity to receive a Canadian Flag from the [Omitted] Lion's Club.

It continues: "If you would prefer that your child does not receive a Canadian flag, please return the bottom portion of this letter to the school prior to June 28, 2022. If you do not return the form, your child will receive a flag."

"If you have any questions or concerns about this presentation or the flag, please contact your child's classroom teacher and/or the office."

Not much more is known about the form, and The Post Millennial is attempting to individually certify its validity.
