The Globe and Mail apparently sees no issue name-dropping Peterson and me in an article that talks about how “regulators are increasingly being asked to step in when medical professionals promote false or harmful information online.”
According to Canada's largest newspaper, The Globe and Mail, Canadian citizens are lapping up health misinformation and abusing health regulators in the process. To hear them tell it, those poor, powerless public institutions don't deserve to have the citizens they serve poking around and demanding truth or honest answers from the institutions that mishandled the pandemic and overstepped their authority by enforcing radical ideologies on members.
In the same story about regulators facing "abuse," the paper's health reporter Carly Weeks ran a quote from Cynthia Johansen, registrar and chief executive officer of the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), defaming me as guilty of discrimination and being a danger to patients. I am a nurse who has stated a belief in the reality of biological sex.
I and my accusers are in an ongoing disciplinary hearing where I am facing bogus accusations of making discriminatory comments about transgendered persons, which I have not. I have simply stated facts. There have been 9 days of hearing so far, spread out over a period of 6 months.
I am supposed to receive a fair and impartial ruling. This is simply not possible when millions of Canadians were told by my accuser that I am guilty, mid-trial, in the pages of The Globe and Mail. My lawyer has demanded a prominent retraction and apology from The Globe and Mail. We are eagerly awaiting a reply.

My multi-year saga of being a nurse who advocated for and continues to advocate for women's rights, which is the basis for the accusations of transphobia, has been covered at length by The Post Millennial.
In addition to claiming that I am a danger to public health for believing facts, Weeks misrepresented the persecution of Jordan Peterson by his own regulatory body, the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Peterson has been publicly defended by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.

Peterson's college, like mine, began investigating him for Thought Crimes at the behest of angry, woke activists who figured out how to weaponize the complaint process of regulatory bodies. While my primary Thought Crime is knowing that humans come in male and female, and cannot change sex, Peterson's include criticizing Our Dear Leader, Trudeau, retweeting Poilievre, and refusing to comply with compelled speech. Peterson sure is a baddy, that one.
The Globe and Mail apparently sees no issue name-dropping Peterson and me in an article that talks about how "regulators are increasingly being asked to step in when medical professionals promote false or harmful information online."
As it happens, the BCCNM actually dropped their charge that I had spread medical misinformation online.
I am still waiting for an apology and retraction on this matter, too.
However, the only person peddling misinformation is The Globe and Mail's Weeks, a "journalist" whose sole strength seems to be having the courage to commit defamation. Mainstream Canadian media likes to do things a little differently: less journalism, more state-funded propaganda.
Have Canadians "abused" health regulators, as Weeks accuses us? I doubt it. What a real journalist should be doing, when any public institution makes a claim that citizens are "abusing" them, is to investigate.
Week should have asked why Canadians are angry at our healthcare institutions and should have defined what is meant by abuse. Are these institutions complaining of nothing more than anonymous Twitter accounts leaving rude comments under an organization's posts, or penning angry letters?
The real abuse is when powerful institutions take away the Charter-enshrined rights of Canadians to speak freely and honestly without coercion and when professional organizations target their members with buzzword-based complaints simply for not professing the popular ideology of the day.
