Schadenfreude at Trump’s expense is nothing new, but this may be its most sinister incarnation to date.
Following the absolutely lawless presidential debate last Thursday, the world of U.S. politics was thrown into a frenzy by Trump's positive COVID results.
Trump, naturally, took to Twitter to deliver the news. The fervour that the announcement inevitably brought with it has caused it to become his most shared tweet of all time, and his most liked.
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

The media reaction, and that of Twitter especially, has appalled Libby Emmons, a senior editor at The Post Millennial and a frequent panelist on Tucker Carlson Tonight. As she explains on this week's Talking Politics, the overwhelming response has been mockery rather than concern.
