Peel police are investigating a hate-motivated incident that happened in a Mississauga place of worship. It was vandalized last weekend.

According to CP24, police were called to the scene on Sunday morning in the area of Lakeshore Road and Peter Street for reports of mischief. The police went on to find spray-painted writing on the place of worship's doors.

Despite numerous churches in the Mississauga neighborhood, police are choosing not to specify which place of worship was involved and what was written.

Police estimate that the incident took place between 6:30 pm Saturday and 7:30 am Sunday.

Investigators are urging to contact the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, extension 1133 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
