The report was posted to X Friday morning, tagging Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency, and addressed to America’s “warfighters, and the American taxpayers," saying, "This is what we did this week," a callback to the email sent to federal employees by Musk over the weekend asking them to include five things they accomplished in the prior week.
Parnell outlined the five things the Department of Defense accomplished over the past week, which was an "action-packed, America First week," the first being the nomination of Lieutenant General Dan "Razin" Kane as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Dan Driscoll as secretary of the Army. Parnell said, "Super psyched about that. We are very much looking forward to having them both on the team here at the Pentagon."
Parnell said that Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, where he "visited our war fighters and inspected the detention facilities where criminal illegal aliens are being held as they await swift deportation."
The United Kingdom has also pledged to increase defense spending, Parnell said, "which was a direct response to Secretary Hegseth’s push for European NATO leadership just two weeks ago, this despite a legacy media narrative that the Secretary’s NATO trip remarks needed to be walked back or would somehow backfire. As usual, the legacy media was wrong."
Also accomplished during the week that Parnell highlighted was the Department of Defense’s public affairs office directing all DEI content to be removed from department websites and social media. "DoD-wide at the Pentagon, we reject the divisive and discriminatory notion that diversity is our strength. It’s not. Our shared unity and purpose are our strengths."
Finally, Trump held his first Cabinet meeting, during which Hegseth "promised the American people the overdue accountability that they deserve for the Biden administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal," Parnell said.
