Planet Fitness claimed she had violated their privacy policy by taking a picture of the man.
The chain claimed she had violated their privacy policy by taking a picture of the man, which made its way on to social media and has since been viewed millions of times.
"As the home of the Judgement Free Zone, Planet Fitness is committed to creating an inclusive environment," a Planet Fitness spokesperson said in a statement, per KOMO News. "Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use the gym facilities that best align with their sincere, self-reported gender identity. The member who posted on social media violated our mobile device policy that prohibits taking photos of individuals in the locker room, which resulted in their membership being terminated."
"I came in Monday, there's a man in the women's locker room shaving, a little girl sitting in the corner ... in a towel kinda freaked out," the woman said in a video shared by Libs of TikTok. "Well I was offended. I took a picture of him, and I asked him why are you there?"
She said he told her he was "queer LGB," at which point she left.
"This morning I got cancelled," she added. "Planet Fitness is defending the man in the women's locker room ... rather than the child with the towel wrapped around her."
She called the situation "rather disturbing," and urged women to stand up and "use your authority" to show the chain that their actions are not acceptable, adding that she was probably going to go to the police.
"I realize he wants to be a woman," she said following the initial encounter, "but I'm not comfortable with him shaving in my bathroom."
