A reporter asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki Thursday why "Putin's Russia" is still involved brokering nuclear deal talks between the US and Iran.
"The President called Putin a war criminal yesterday," began the reporter. "The Secretary of State just said that that was also his view today."
"Given all of that, why are we still having Putin's Russia broker the Iran nuclear deal talks?" continued the reporter.
Psaki responded, "Well, I would say that it is not in our interest for Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon."
She continued, "And, Russia is a member of the P5 plus one [The permanent members of the United Nation's Security Council]."
"So, that is pursuit of a deal that would be in our national security interest."
Iran's previous economic sanctions are currently under a waiver instituted on Feb 5 by the Biden administration as talks proceed and multiple nations attempt to reach a global agreement with the rogue terrorist regime which would convince them to not pursue a nuclear weapons program.
However, the talks have been quickly deteriorating as Russia insists on inserting pro-Russian elements into the agreement it is brokering.
