Fully-vaccinated Quebec residents who have gotten the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine can now take a third dose in order to partake in non-essential travel. It is an option supported by the Quebec government.
Quebec Public Health Officials are offering people an extra dose of the vaccine due to the decision by some some countries to not recognize the AstraZeneca vaccine as a valid dose. But on Monday, Health Officials stated that it is up to the individual recipient to decide if they want to take a third dose of a Pfizer or Moderna shot.
Additionally, Premier Francois Legault announced on Monday that his government will relax more COVID-19 restrictions for bars, clubs, festivals, and other entertainment venues.
Beginning this Sunday, bars and clubs will be able to serve alcohol for an extra hour until 1:00 am and close at 2:00 am. Outdoor festivals will be able to host a maximum of 15,000 people and indoor venues will be able to welcome 7,500 people. Dancing is still prohibited.
According to Quebec's public health institute, 83.5% of residents in the province who are 12-years-old or older have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine and 62.5% have gotten both.
