A photo of a raccoon opening a cabinet inside a Toronto Tim Hortons last week has gone viral, with one social media user designating it "the most Toronto thing to ever Toronto."

According to BlogTO, the now-deleted image was originally uploaded to Reddit with the caption "Timmies employee refuses to wear mask on the job."

A confused employee, who is wearing a mask, can be seen in the background staring at the raccoon as she makes a phone call.

Toronto is well known for its population of raccoons, having been dubbed the "raccoon capital of the world" due to the city's bustling population of over 100,000 raccoons.

Raccoons invaded Toronto in 2002 following the introduction of the organic bin program, which has served as an excellent source of food for the critters.

Since then, raccoons have become an integral part of Toronto society. They were were featured in the documentary series Planet Earth II, a BBC program narrated by David Attenborough.

Torontonians have begun to accept their presence as an element of Toronto culture, even going as far as to hold candlelight vigils for dead raccoons.

The photo of the raccoon has since spread across social media, becoming a great source of laughter and silly comments. "Uh, where do you keep the Tim Bits?" one user commented. "He's wearing a mask alright, but he's got it around his eyes" another user exclaimed.

It is not the first time that a raccoon has been caught causing trouble inside a Toronto restaurant, with one raccoon caught on video stealing a donut in 2015.
