MSNBC's Rachel Maddow falsely claimed on social media Wednesday that rival network Fox News did not air the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump. According to Fox News, Maddow railed against the outlet for allegedly not covering the impeachment trial.
"Thinking of it particularly because Fox News Channel has not been taking the trial today," Maddow said on Twitter. "There will be a disconnect between GOP Senators seeing all this stuff, and their base voters whose news today was, like, culture war stuff about the NBA or the War on Christmas or whatever."
Fox News did in fact air the entire impeachment trial, including opening statements from the impeachment managers and Trump's legal team. Fox News even streamed the impeachment trial on FoxNews.com.
Maddow later walked back her tweet to clarify that Fox News did air the impeachment but "bugged out early."
