A now-former Pennsylvania State University professor accused of performing sexual acts with his dog in a public forest told investigators executing a search warrant at his home “I’m done, I’m dead. You don’t understand, I do it to blow off steam,” and then asked officers to shoot him telling them “I need to die.”

64-year-old Themis Matsoukas was spotted on trail cams in Rothrock State Forest naked performing sexual acts with his collie as early as 2014, with the latest incident taking place this year.

He was arrested on Tuesday and hit with a slew of charges including open lewdness, indecent exposure, sexual intercourse with an animal, animal cruelty, and disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by WKBN, Matsoukas was nervous when officers arrived at his home and said,  “I’m done, I’m dead. You don’t understand, I do it to blow off steam.”

He also told officers, “What do I have to do to get you to shoot me; I need to die,” according to the documents.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Rangers launched an investigation in April after a trail cam set up in the park captured footage of a man engaging in lewd behavior with a collie near a restroom in the parking area and was attempting to film it on an iPad.

Park rangers said the area is within viewing distance of a road used by visitors to access a picnic area and campgrounds.

Matsoukas was identified by his Subaru when he returned to the same area in May and the car matched a vehicle spotted in previous videos.

Trail cam footage from as early as 2014 showed Matsoukas walking around camp naked from the waist down with his dog, wearing a black ski mask and carrying an iPad.

According to WTAJ, in one of the videos, Matsoukas was allegedly seen leaving a restroom naked with the dog before masturbating and letting it lick his anus while he filmed various angles using his iPad.

After his arrest, Penn State announced that the 30-year veteran chemical engineering professor had been "relieved of his responsibilities and is on leave."

His hearing is scheduled for July 19.
