Ron DeSantis floats idea that Biden could be removed from ballot for 'letting 8 million illegals into the country and violating the Constitution'

"What you're seeing the left do is they will use the power of the state to advance their agenda. And you see that with the Colorado Supreme Court," DeSantis said.

Speaking at a campaign event on Wednesday morning following a ruling from the Colorado Supreme Court disqualifying Trump from being on the state’s primary ballot, Florida Governor and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis said "What you're seeing the left do is they will use the power of the state to advance their agenda. And you see that with the Colorado Supreme Court."

"I mean, look, if somebody's convicted or something of some of these things — there was no trial on any of this. They basically just said, like, you can't be on the ballot. I mean, how does that work? What's the limiting principle for that? Could we just say that Biden can't be on the ballot because he let in 8 million illegals into the country and violated the Constitution, which he has, could we just say, 'Oh, well, they have money coming to Hunter,'" he added, saying the Supreme Court will likely overrule the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision.

On Tuesday evening, the Colorado Supreme Court put out a ruling disqualifying 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump from appearing on the state’s primary ballot.

An advance sheet headnote on the matter states that "President Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution," and that since "he is disqualified, it would be a wrongful act under the Election Code for the Colorado Secretary of State to list him as a candidate on the presidential primary ballot."

It goes on to note that the court will stay its ruling until Jan. 4, 2024, "subject to any further appellate proceedings."

In response to the ruling, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said,  "Unsurprisingly, the all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump, supporting a Soros-funded, left-wing group’s scheme to interfere in an election on behalf of Crooked Joe Biden by removing President Trump’s name from the ballot and eliminating the rights of Colorado voters to vote for the candidate of their choice."

"Democrat Party leaders are in a state of paranoia over the growing, dominant lead President Trump has amassed in the polls. They have lost faith in the failed Biden presidency and are now doing everything they can to stop the American voters from throwing them out of office next November," he continued.
