Rust Belt voters polled said that they preferred Biden to Florida's anti-woke governor DeSantis, 38.3 percent to 33.9 percent.
Trump also leads President Biden in the poll, showing that likely voters prefer Trump to Biden 46.9 to 38.1 percent. Among those likely voters who were polled, 7.5 percent say they would opt for a third party candidate, and 7.4 percent are not yet decided.
If DeSantis were to be the nominee, according to likely voters, Biden would take the lead in that context. Rust Belt voters polled said that they preferred Biden to Florida's anti-woke governor DeSantis, 38.3 percent to 33.9 percent. In that case, more than 13 percent would opt for a third party while 14.4 percent stated they were undecided.
DeSantis has not yet announced his intention to run, but is expected to make an announcement in the coming weeks.
Biden does lead the Democrats, and he has the full force of the party, and four years in the White House, behind him. He holds 59.7 percent of likely voters, while Robert Kennedy Jr. sees 13.6 percent.
The poll was conducted with a sample size of 3,032 likely voters, with slightly more women than men polled. 1,137 of those polled are registered Democrats, while 1,146 were Republican. The states polled include Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
