Following a statement from President Joe Biden on Monday that there's "no federal solution" to COVID-19, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem called for the cancellation of Biden's federal vaccine mandates.

"After a year, we finally agree @potus. The federal government isn't the solution. That's why from the start, SD took a different approach by trusting our citizens to be responsible and make the right decisions for themselves & their families. Now rescind all the federal mandates," wrote Noem on Twitter.

Speaking with governors on Monday, Biden said "Look, there is no federal solution," in response to a question from Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. "This gets solved at the state level."

The response from Biden came in response to Hutchinson raising "concern" with the president, stating that the administration should "make sure that we don't let federal solutions stand in the way of state solutions"

Biden had campaigned last year to "shut down the virus," promising Americans that he would not "shut down the country" or "shut down the economy."

Noem was not the only figure to be calling for the cancellation of federal vaccine mandates. A number of Twitter users also called Biden out, demanding the removal of the mandate, with applies to businesses with 100 or more employees, effecting a large portion of the American workforce.
