Musk said that the youngest "was a nine-month year old who got a $100,000 loan. That’s a very precocious baby we’re talking about here."

During a Monday cabinet meeting at the White House, Elon Musk revealed that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) found that the Small Business Association (SBA) had given over $300 million in loans to children under the age of 11.

"A case of fraud was with the Small Business Administration, where they were handing out loans — $330 million worth of loans to people under the age of 11," Musk said, adding that the youngest "was a nine-month year old who got a $100,000 loan. That’s a very precocious baby we’re talking about here."

DOGE on Sunday said that the SBA, as of Friday, now "requires date of birth collection for all direct loan applications" and that "the direct loan process for those under 18 and above 120 years old" has been paused.

"Basic sanity checks like these are initial steps towards minimizing fraud in government payment programs," DOGE wrote. Musk replied, "No more loans to babies or people too old to be alive (ie stolen Social Security numbers)."

According to DOGE's tracker website, the department has saved an estimated $115 billion dollars since it began its efforts to drastically cut down on government fraud and waste. Elon Musk's role in the Trump administration as head of DOGE has resulted in Tesla, the electric car company he owns, being targeted across the United States and beyond. Tesla dealerships, charging stations, and vehicles have been targeted with violent attacks, such as arson, in addition to acts of vandalism.

In February, Musk revealed that there were people on the Social Security database whose ages extend well beyond the average life expectancy, and some were listed as being as old as the US itself. Millions of people in the database were listed as being 100 years or older, with over 2,000 people being listed as over 200 years old.
