So-called liberals want the military to crack down on a Canadian workers' uprising

Working class, truck driving protestors have gathered in Ottawa, Ontario, gridlocking the city and honking their horns to demand the Trudeau government lift vaccine mandates on their industry. The protest, called the Freedom Convoy, has captured the imagination and the hearts of those in North America who yearn for freedom, liberty, and the right to self-determination.

But for Canada's state-run press, as well as US, leftist corporate media, upholding the government narrative has been far more important that acknowledging the truckers' rights to live and work freely. Leftists have usually been in favor of workers rights, but in this case, when the workers are actual blue collar Canadians who want their bodies and minds free from government control, the left stands in opposition to the working class and their interests. It's a massive red pill moment.

That government narrative, as spelled out by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his contingent, as well as the NDP party leader Jagmeet Singh, is that these truckers are not looking for a restoration of their rights and the rights of all Canadians, but are essentially white supremacists who are protesting with hate in their hearts. Singh flat out accused the truckers of white supremacy.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The protest has become a diverse group, including Indigenous Canadians and Canadians of color, but that hasn't stopped media from smearing the group as a means to align their press coverage with how the government wants these peaceful freedom fighters and their uprising to be perceived.

The Freedom Convoy has no time for prejudice, they simply want their country back from the authoritarian, overreaching rulers who have stolen their freedoms and vilified their lust for liberty.

Despite this, The Globe and Mail calls the protest an "assault on democracy." "The truckers’ movement is no longer a demonstration for freedom or vaccine mandates, but a well-fundedassault on democracy. As one organizer put it, their mission was to 'compel the government to dissolve government.' We must be clear about what took place in Canada last weekend: an attempt to alter government policy by force – while masquerading as a rally for freedom. More dangerously, it was a movement insidiously co-opted by white nationalists and their far-right allies," they write.

On February 2, CBC journalist Joanne Chianello pressed Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly over additional means that would be required to clear the protest, suggesting a military crack down.

"By strictly a policing action, we are not as confident as we have been that police alone will resolve this situation substantially," Sloly replied, "never mind in totality. There is likely no policing solution to this, but in combination with other efforts, there may be other opportunity to substantially reduce if not end this demonstration."

Sloly said of his officers' ability to remove protestors, or stop more from entering, "There is no lawful authority to seal a city, there's no practical capability to seal a city of this size.

He also said that US money and organizers are backing the Freedom Convoy. "We are now aware of a significant element from the United States that have been involved in the funding, the organizing and the demonstrating. They have converged on our city and there are plans for more to come."

"The longer this goes on," Sloly added, "the more I'm convinced there may not be a police solution to this demonstration."

This led to speculation that Trudeau would potentially send in military forces to clear the protestors, and their large vehicles, from Ottawa's streets. Trudeau addressed that on Thursday, saying that "it's not in the cards right now." The Defense Minister said there were no plans for a military intervention.

"There were questions a couple of years ago around military when it came to other protests that were blocking critical infrastructure. My answer then is consistent with my answer now, that one has to be very, very cautious before deploying military in situations engaging Canadians, it is not something that anyone should entertain in lightly. As of now, there have been no requests, and that is not in the cards right now," he said.

A couple of years ago, "caution" is not the word he used. Instead, in 2020 when there were leftist protest and rail blockades due to climate change and incursions on Indigenous land, he said that "it's never appropriate" for Canada to use military force on its own citizens.

Trudeau also said that he has attended protests that he supports, noting his compliance at BLM protests when he notably "took a knee," but it turns out that if he doesn't agree with a protests message, such as this one in which the message is "give us back our rights you overbearing tyrant," he's not on board at all.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford told protestors it was "time to go home," that they'd made their point. Ford said that the gridlocking of Ottawa has harmed restaurants in the area, who have been closed due to his COVID-inspired restrictions for "a while now."

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson slammed the Saskatchewan Caucus for showing their support to truckers in downtown Ottawa, saying that their presence was "an absolute disgrace." He further said that the protests were "illegal," which in a free society is not the case.

And where is media in all this? Stoking the flames of the anti-protestor sentiment, but not for the reasons that Ottawa citizens find the protest distasteful—constant honking, gridlocked streets.

Last week, the CBC's Nil Kostal alleged that those behind the Freedom Convoy are actually "Russian actors." Speaking to Minister of Public Safety Marco Mendicino, Kostal argued that "there is concern that Russian actors could be continuing to fuel things, as this as this protest grows, but perhaps even instigating it from from the outset."

On top of this, the two teamed up to convey the false message that racists carrying Confederate and Nazi flags were a mainstay of the protest, and used these suppositions to claim that the protest was a hate-fueled hate-fest of horrible hateful people who hate the Canadian way of life.

There has been absolutely no evidence of this, but it continues to be a talking point, despite the fact that when a fully masked, anonymous person carrying a Confederate flag was seen among the protestors, he was surrounded and driven out of the area.

The Washington Post smeared the protestors for "desecrating" monuments and statues. This after nearly two years of advocating for the rights of individuals and groups to do to public statues and monuments as they saw fit, so long as it was for cause WaPo favored.

To this, Trudeau said "I want to be very clear: We are not intimidated by those who hurl insults and abuse at small-business workers and steal food from the homeless," Trudeau said. "We won't give in to those who fly racist flags. We won't cave to those who engage in vandalism or dishonor the memory of our veterans."

However, truckers have been bringing food to the homeless, cleaning up after themselves, shoveling snow, and are wholly opposed to any racism or racist imagery.

The Freedom Convoy is opposed to Trudeau's vaccine mandates. They don't see why they should be forced to get a vaccine against a communicable disease when what they do is drive, alone, in their trucks. Despite this, 90 percent of those in the Canadian trucking industry are vaccinated.

The media collusion with state interests is in direct opposition to the people of the working class. While Trudeau, his acolytes, CBC, CNN, WaPo, and others may be in favor of forced vaccinations to the point of bringing a military force to bear on this working class uprising, the people know better, and they have vowed to secure not only their own rights, but the rights of all Canadians.
