St. John stabbing leaves one man in hospital, another arrested

St. John police responded to a call of an alleged stabbing taking place early Saturday morning in an apartment complex.

St. John police responded to a call of an alleged stabbing taking place early Saturday morning in an apartment complex.

At 12:23 am, a stabbing occurred at Princess Street in the Uptown section of St. John, New Brunswick. Local law enforcement were called to the scene of an apparent stabbing that stemmed from a fight between two men.

According to Global News, the victim, a 47-year-old male, was immediately taken to hospital. There is no word on his condition.

A 42-year-old male was arrested and charged at the scene. He is now in police custody and has a court appearance scheduled for Monday.

At this time, the identities of both the alleged assailant and the victim have not been made available to the public.

The incident continues to be investigated by the St. John Police Force's Major Crime Unit.
