Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly planning a New York City wedding at Madison Square Garden. Sources close to the couple told ABC News that the first event will take place on Thursday with a more intimate group of around 100 people. The main event is set to begin Friday at 4 p.m., with sources revealing the festivities are set to run until 4 a.m. Sources also told ABC News there will be a strict no-phones policy for everyone, including guests and staff. It is also reported that streets outside the arena-turned-wedding venue will be shut down, including West 31st Street and West 33rd Street, for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Former NYPD Chief Kenneth E. Corey told Fox News Digital that the department is “well equipped to handle” the large-scale, high-profile event. “Security inside Madison Square Garden will be handled privately, either by MSG or arranged by the event organizer,” Corey revealed. “The role of the NYPD will be crowd management, which for any large-scale event today includes a substantial counterterrorism overlay.”

“I would expect several hundred officers to be assigned to police this event on each day,” Corey predicted.

"The timing of the event adds to an already very busy time in New York City. From the FIFA World Cup to Sail 250, the July 4 fireworks shows, and so many other events happening in NYC over the next week, the department is stretched very thin," he said.

The Billboard-topping singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post in August of last year, bearing the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Swift, 36, who has penned hits such as “the 1” and “my tears ricochet,” has written about love and heartbreak for years. On her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, she explores the pain of a toxic romance in the heartbreaking ballad “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus”:

“If you want to break my cold, cold heart
Just say, ‘I loved you the way that you were’
If you want to tear my world apart
Just say you’ve always wondered”

Now, as Swift and Kelce enter a new chapter together, their relationship has come full circle. The pair first connected after Kelce revealed on his podcast with his brother “New Heights with Jason Travis Kelce” that he had unsuccessfully attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number attached during one of her Eras Tour stops. Swift later reached out and the two began one of the world’s most high-profile celebrity relationships.
