The Royal Canadian Legion is selling masks donning their logo. All proceeds are going to the Legion and Canada's Veterans. So far, they have become extremely popular. Nearly 40,000 have sold across the country thus far.
The masks were designed by the Legion's head office and each one is manufactured in Canada.
Many Legions across the country have been hit with financial hardships during the global pandemic.
Angus Stanfield, a member of the Trafalgar Pro Patria Branch No. 292 in Victoria, told CTV: "The masks are a great way to help out local Legion branches that are struggling to stay open... It's an opportunity for the branches to make just a little bit of revenue—that was the idea behind it and right now, it's a real struggle to just even stay open."
"In almost the 100 years since the Legion has been in existence, we've never asked for help. But these are extreme times and without help it's going to be really, really tough," Stanfield said.
Some great ways you can pitch in and help support the Royal Canadian Legion are buying a mask, volunteering in your communities branch, joining a local branch or donating to the organization.
Due to high demand, the masks have been selling out since September. More of the masks will be available to ship on October 12. In the meanwhile you can pre-order yours here.
