A trans-identified voice actor is reportedly outraged after being hired to voice a video game character for the popular horror game "Dead by Daylight" that developers reportedly did not show the character design to beforehand.

The character ended up being a deformed mutant monster that people have to kill. The monster is neither male nor female but is dressed in a skirt and a pink crop top. The character also holds a weapon that is blue and yellow. Pink and blue are the two main colors featured in the transgender pride flag.

The discovery has outraged both the trans-identified voice actor, Zoey Alexandria, and members of the transgender community.

The "Dead by Daylight" character named "The Unknown" is one of many characters that players can use in the game. In the game, one person plays as a "killer" character while four other players try to survive. Players have to use unlockables to receive the outfit and by default, the character comes with a male outfit.

The killer character is described as an alien who escaped Area 51 and is a member of a cult.

The killer's description states: "There are many theories as to its origin. Some speculate that it's a malevolent entity conjured long ago by an ancient cult. Others believe it to be an alien that escaped from Area 51."

"There are those that say it thrives in darkness, stealing the voices of its prey and luring people to their doom. Is it an evil entity? An extraterrestrial? A failed government experiment? A serial killer allergic to publicity? The true answer is Unknown," it continues.

After the new character was released, backlash quickly ensued and players of the transgender community accused the makers of the video game of "transphobia."

Zoey Alexandria, who voiced the character, expressed outrage with the model for the character and claimed that it's an offensive transgender "stereotype." Alexandria claimed that the voice actor was tricked into playing the character and is now asking for reparations.

"Many folks in the trans community are up in arms over this and rightfully so. I feel that reparations from the team that deliberately tricked me is the only logical next choice of action. I am so upset, so infuriated that people are comparing trans-people to these clearly TRANSPHOBIC character skins," wrote Alexandria in a post on social media.

Additionally, some players of the game voiced their concerns about the new character in an online public forum. They also accused the makers of "Dead by Daylight" of transphobia and want legal action to be taken.

However, others defended the new character on the forum and explained that the character's default design is not transgender and that the feature needs to be unlocked to change its appearance.

Dead by Daylight has not yet publicly commented on the matter.
